My ass this AC will ever fill the CAS mission. It's too expensive to risk flying CAS or CSAR, any mission requiring a long loiter time in hostile areas. It will never get down in the weeds, nor does it have the capability to provide direct ground support precision fire the way an A-10 can. The first Wing CC who loses one providing CAS will have his career declared DOA.

MSgt Mark Bucher Truth. Low and slow is the way to go. Is why they're called Grunts of the Sky. Too many critical issues & high tech possibilities to go wrong in the 35. I want something that can hang around and throw Coke bottle through some bad guys.
