Sooo tired of the left wing lunacy. First even if he did he is the President and the ultimate declassify authority. Sec we have an unnamed source that is suppose to have been at a meeting that only had three people and they know what was discussed? This is more of the lefts lies and "fake" news. At this point I think they are all just writing fiction or what they think is happening in an alternate reality and calling it fact. We all know the left has a sketchy grasp at best on facts and truth.

In the media's fantasy world that this story is true, that Trump provided classified info of some sort to the Russians on ISIS, it is still a nothing burger. The president has the authority to do so if he deems it appropriate. That is item one.
Item 2. McMaster stated flatly that the story is not true. I don't know how much clearer he can be. The story is either true or it isn't. McMaster and Tillerson are "on the record". They have made public statements and are documented sources that the story is not accurate. So, time for the WaPo to put up or shut up.
The unnamed sources game with these sorts of allegations is poor form and they should know it. They could have tried to get something from the administration but didn't. They could have worked the story longer/hard but didn't. It fit the narrative that Trump is bad/incompetent/a rank amateur/in bed with the Russians etc. So they ran it, fast.

GySgt John Olson - John you are making a lot of assumptions:
1. That he did indeed share classified information. That seems in question but let's assume he did for a minute. We both agree he has the ability (as all presidents do) to declassify the information to use to the countries advantage he sees fit.
2. You are assuming the information was given by a third party AND that third party had not been asked about sharing it (assuming it was shared).
3. You are assuming if the information was shared that somehow the source and/or method could be determined/revealed.
4. You are assuming it was handed out like candy and people were put at risk. There is no evidence of that. McMaster and Tillerson said, ON THE RECORD that during their conversation no sources or methods were communicated.

GySgt John Olson - On the denial, it might be hard to state that no classified information was discussed with the Russians. I don't know that it is unusual that people at that level might discuss a number of classified items in a meeting. Not sure a flat out denial could be made on that general point.
McMaster had a longer Q and A today and I think he was even clearer than he was last night. McMaster said there was nothing inappropriate done, period. He said the harm is being done by the false reporting.
Your assumptions beyond the denial remain.

I'm going to believe Gen. McMaster over anyone else on this particular topic.

But the President is the Original Classification Authority, so he can choose to disclose the informaton. and General McMAsters comment can still also be true. Which makes the post article some worthless hearsay from an unnamed source. Which is about what the National Enquirer would publish.
