For those of you who haven't seen it, personally, one of my very favorite military biopics, reasonably accurate, and a fairly cerebral treatment, I found well worth watching, with a very famous and beautiful military musical score, very interesting and unusual film approach, honest....

I follow, really a gorgeous film, honest, with a very hauntingly beautiful musical score, as I'd mentioned. Robert Montgomery, who directed with James Cagmey, who did the lead as FAdm Halsey, also did the film version of They Were Expendable, the biography of VAdm John Bulkeley who took Gen MacArthur to Australia from Bataan and Corregidor. I thought John Wayne a bit of a joke in it as Robert Montgomery really was Navy, and actually also taught Gen Eisenhower public speaking and ormspeech delivery as well. The daughter Elizabeth Montgomery who did the Bewitched drivel, I never cared for however, he was a very real ww2 hero, look at the Wikipedia page on him, interesting story, honest.
