That is a very haunting title SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. Just reading it reminded me of the Vietnam War images that seem to be burned into my memory. I enlisted at the tail end and was too young to deploy.
I recognize that in the Vietnamese culture there are thousands of families who have no idea what became of their loved ones. Some were blown to bits or burned to cinders. Many were buried in hastily constructed graves.
There culture has a deep understandings of why we search for our own missing dead and long to know the fate of the MIAs. This common understanding has helped them help us find our buried service men and crash sites.
