I once asked my father-in-law, who had been born in Russia, about the first airplane he ever saw. What he described was a Wright-Patterson biplane (on which the pilot sat on the wing) put-putting over his village. This man lived to see men walk on the Moon. Imagine the breadth of that experience. Because of my chosen career, I have been intimately involved with computers from the time they were contained in several refrigerator-sized boxes until they were micro chips I carry in my pocket. Hell, my smart phone has more computer processing power than all the computers that launched and flew space shuttles. Yes, we live in a Golden Age of science and discovery the likes of which were never seen before nor will they be seen again. What is new and wondrous to us will be commonplace and banal to those who follow.

There are always going to be opportunities for the experience of jaw-dropping wonder. If not for us, then for people in disadvantaged circumstances. It happens whenever someone escapes from North Korea. It happened every time someone defected from the old Soviet Union. Imagine only ever seeing empty shelves in stores, and then walking into a WalMart Super Center or a Costco. There are lots of things that can blow our minds, and I'm very happy that those opportunities have not yet been exhausted even for me.

Very cool! Bill Whittle said, "we are that kind of crazy" You it is very foretelling when he said we have not seen anything like this or will ever again see the likes. I think man has looked very deep into the Divine Eye.
