great article on the AR15, the one item they left out is the availability and price of the ammo. I love to shoot and one of the major factors for me is the price and availability of ammo. Thanks for sharing SGT (Join to see)

Good article. I don't have an AR, I do enjoy shooting my son's though. I have a bolt action 556 with adjustable stock and pistol grip. I like taking my time on shots.

Pretty good article. Something they didn't cover is the growing popularity of pistol caliber AR platforms, like the AR-9 in 9mm obviously. These seem to be more for competition but fit well into the home defense market, IMO.

I haven't had the chance to fire one in 9mm, but a guy next to me at the range let me fire his Thureon Defense Carbine in .45 ACP. Nice shooting weapon, the only thing was the charging bolt was on the left side of the rifle.

Maj Robert Thornton - You can get left and right hand ARs pretty readily. Lefties used to be "left" out! LOL

David, the Thureon doesn't have a charging handle like the AR, more of a bolt like on the old Thompson sub machine guns. The difference is the bolt is on the left, rounds eject to the right. That's just how they are made.
