The hard truth? What as crock of bullshit. Neither I nor anyone I know alive today had anything to do with genocide of native Americans, slavery, Jim Crow laws, or any other shameful part of this country's history. And most if not all people alive today who buy into this bullshit were not victims of any of it. And I'm getting tired of ignorant assholes using today's standards to unfairly criticize our founding fathers and other historical figures for owning slaves without taking into account the culture they lived in at that time. So get over it, quit trying to use it as a crutch, and get on with your life and be thankful you live in the greatest country in the world. Because if you aren't thankful for that, then feel free to take a flying $*%# to some other country and don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

SSG Jessica Bautista - Do you not believe we aren't the greatest nation? Please tell me another nation where you have the freedoms you have here. Do we have faults? Absolutely, but we have mechanisms in place to be able to rectify these faults. Do we use them? Most of the time no. We are to busy complaining and not acting. We have become weak and afraid to make hard choices to correct the issues of today. Just my 2 cents.

SSG Jessica Bautista - Providing the freedom to try and make ourselves the greatest. Number one in lists does not necessarily make you the greatest. We have more advanced medicine than any where in the world. Others may have it cheaper but they copied the techniques from us. Why do you feel we are not the greatest? Please provide examples. Not trying to incite, only to understand.

Just off the top of my head: Individualism and liberty to succeed or fail based solely on your own efforts; a form of government that has never been overthrown and transitions peacefully on a scheduled basis; scientific and medical breakthroughs; inventions; military accomplishments; the kindhearted and giving nature of the American people whenever there is a catastrophe anywhere in the world; landing on the moon; our justice system; our healthcare system; our infrastructure; our rights, including the freedom of expression and the right to keep and bear arms. I'm sure I've probably overlooked some. Why don't you go ask some of the millions of people who want to leave their native countries and move here every year. Or go live in one of their countries for a while to experience the difference.
