Thanks for reminding us TSgt Joe C. that on May 4, 1886 at Haymarket Square in Chicago, Illinois, a bomb was thrown at a squad of policemen attempting to break up a labor rally. The police responded with wild gunfire, killing several people in the crowd and injuring dozens more.

The Haymarket Square Riot actually is viewed as a pivotal event in labor relations here in the US. It was a tragic loss of life.
