The Inside Story of an American Warship Doomed by Its Own Navy

This was a very well written account of what happened to the Fitzgerald. And also pointed to so many failures along the way that led to the collision. I am by no means knowledgeable on how the Navy works, but clearly, there were some major issues within the command and inside the structure of the Navy. And 7 sailors paid the ultimate price, along with the 10 more that followed two months later in the McCain collision. But I do commend those on board that snapped into action (what they are trained to do) despite the circumstances.
