DEARBORN, Mich. — The Muslim-American parents of a soldier who criticized Donald Trump at the Democratic National Convention are expected to visit suburban Detroit to get an award from the Arab American Civil Rights League.

Khizr Khan and wife Ghazala Khan will be honored at the group's Fight for Justice gala in Dearborn on Sept. 29.

A Detroit-area attorney, Nabih Ayad, tells the Detroit Free Press that the Khans rightly spoke against bigotry. Khizr Khan criticized Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, for his comments about Muslim immigrants.

Their son, U.S. Army Capt. Humayun Khan, was killed in Iraq in 2004.

I concur with ENS (Join to see)'s response. My sympathy goes to U.S. Army CPT Humayun Khan who was killed in Iraq in 2004 SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.
My enmity extends to the father Khizr Khan who has leveraged his sons death at the hands of Islamic militants to make a name of himself while he most likely is lobbying for a position in a Clinton administration which I hope never sees the light of day.
