We have screwed the Kurds, broken promises, so often, I doubt if there is a relationship. Sad. They are one of the few groups in that part of the world that is worthy of supporting. They could never take the place of, say, Iran under the Shah, as a balancing force, but they would make a helluva wild card to keep the others guessing. Bottom line: I wish them well and I hope someone in the District of Calamity wakes up to their potential.

CPT Jack Durish I agree. Their location makes them the Israel of the Muslim world - surrounded by people that want to wipe them from history. They are trapped between Turkey, Syria, Iraq, & Iran, all of whom hate them and plot against them in some manner or another. Currently, I believe, Turkey is working w/ Iran to take Northern Iraq from them so they (Iran) can have direct border with Syria. Iraq is pissed because they are trying to keep their borders intact, but they can't even unite their interior.
