LCDR (Join to see) - I'm hardly a flaming liberal ... in fact I've been compared here on RP to Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh ... but IMV, Trump poisoned the well on this sentence ... when a week or so ago he referred us back to his campaign comments. He's now gone on and given ammunition to the defense to use on appeal. While the judge noted last week that he was not influenced by anything Trump said, he also said public perception was a factor in his consideration of what weight to give to Trump's remarks. I can't fault the judge for that. I can, and do, fault POTUS for opining on that which he has no business opining on. I saw this sentence coming last week ... and Bergdahl can thank Trump for it.
