There is no integrity in the press anymore. This article is garbage, and it would be garbage if it was about any president.
Funny how people are all upset at the media now they are coming out with stuff against 45...When media outlets were bashing PRESIDENT OBAMA folks were applauding and agreeing with it...Now all of a sudden "it's wrong"...Very funny...
LT Annala, I will respectfully choose to ignore this post as I do any post that is referenced by CNN that purports to represent journalistic excellence as it debases the President of the United States. Michael D'Antonio's also wrote "A Consequential President: The Legacy of Barack Obama". I am to believe that he is not biased? This article is just more pablum for Trump Derangement Sufferers (TDS). More imbecilic suppositions predicated upon half baked assessments fed by anonymous sources purporting to prove a pre ordained hypothesis about POTUS dictated by Obama et.al. TDS is insidious and quite contagious. For example, Dr. Steven Beutler, a TDS sufferer, opined in the New Republic that "...Trump’s bizarre, volatile behavior...” was related to untreated syphilis, perhaps contracted in the 1980s. Not to be outdone, another TDS sufferer on the The New Republic- its social social media editor - Sarah Jones, wrote a piece on that stated that “...the Trump administration’s overt obsession with white supremacy – which the 2016 election showed to be the ugly beating heart of the conservative movement – has imbued the platform of the Republican Party with a lurid tinge, changing our understanding of its disdain not only for minorities, but for the weak, the poor, and the disabled...” Her hypothesis provided no solid concrete examples of “...the Trump administration’s overt obsession with white supremacy...”, but merely stated it as a given. Accordingly, LT Annala, it is evident that TDS sufferers are convinced that Trump is, at best, setting the U.S. up for a rerun of the last days of Weimar Germany. At worst, TDS sufferers see him as a mastermind of a nefarious scheme aimed at replacing democracy with a GOP dictatorship that will repress women and minorities, cause the polar ice caps to melt and will ultimately result in an invasion of Earth by the the Romulan Star Empire that will install Trump as the master of the world. So, my question LT Annala, is why would I even begin to take the musings of TDS sufferers seriously????

LTC Orlando Illi - Nice writing. But, merely labeling the results of investigative journalism - particularly international prize winning balanced reporting from a very serious journalist - whose results you don't like - as a product of CNN or TDS - trying to discredit his analysis by false allegations of intellectual association with weak minded network and reporters - does not really accomplish your objective. Steven Beutler and/or Sarah Jones musings have absolutely nothing to do with the detailed historical analysis in D'Antonio's two carefully researched and fairly presented analyses in two 400 page books reviewing the history, predilections, successes, and failures of the current presidential incumbent - nor do they have anything to do with the reporting and analysis in the present article. I'd suggest you come back with more when your guy has actually accomplished something rather than merely stirring the pot, issuing toothless executive orders with no funding for implementing new programs, making empty promises, and making easy choices. Try to make a worthwhile argument when your guy has accomplished one percent of what his GOP predecessors (Lincoln, Jefferson, Grant, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Reagan, Nixon, and/or H W Bush) accomplished. This has nothing to do with Obama, Clinton, liberals, and/or any other party or agenda. Your guy promised to accomplish so many things in first 100 days of his presidency - what has Donald Trump accomplished as a president that any 5 year child could not have accomplished with the same level of staff support? Not to put too unkind a face on the results - the sad truth is that Donald Trump is no Ronald Reagan. Sandy :)

1LT Sandy Annala - Lieutenant, the whole bash POTUS movement employs vitriolic commentary that is rarely supported by verifiable facts. Its proponents opt instead to employ legions of anonymous self anointed experts to bolster their unsubstantiated analyses. I, instead, subscribe to the premise that the concept of a Logical consequence is the fundamental building block of logic. Accordingly, it stands to reason that any premise that purports to criticize POTUS must have a corresponding FACTUAL basis. Sadly, Lieutenant, all I have seen (including your recent video and the above posting from CNN) are half baked suppositions, purporting to present conclusions as valid. However, those conclusions are rarely based on VERIFIABLE facts. I used to tell my students at DSMC that any valid logical premise is one in which an Hypotheses is PROVEN through incontrovertible fact and is thus a consequence of the premise. Sadly, the premise fostered by D'Antonio had little PROVEN FACT to bolster his conclusion. Thus, it should be dismissed out of hand. By the way - entertaining video - but one that proves nothing.

Hate based on personal appearance, a private conversation decades ago, (hope no one taped me in my youth), fake news and a lack of an ability to tell lies with a straight face (read Obama) are invalid reasons for the continuous assault on democratically elected president.
