This article is 4 years old. My uncle was a lieutenant in the Marine Corps and one of the first to come to Vietnam in 1965 by C-130.

Glad the math checks out. 54 years ago yesterday = 50 years ago (4 years ago). We had advisors in Nam for quite some time (years) before the 9th MEB landed. They guarded Da Nang so others could fly in safely
