Personally I don't think its about rank, its about the administration, facility and doctors. I retired as an O-6 Colonel. I have severe PTSD, TBI, partial bullet fragment in my C-spine with nerve damage, 2 bullets to the chest, 1 in my right femur. The VA gave me a lot of pain meds and Seroquel, Trazadone, Pshych meds but nothing else. I finally went private healthcare, Kaiser Permanente and they started treating my PTSD, TBI, muscle loss in my hands and legs and other medical issues. So in my experience rank does not matter and it shouldn't. All soldiers should be treated the same.

I'm happy you are finally being taken care of, but i find it appalling that you had to go the civilian route in order to receive the proper care you need.

That is a shame SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I am thankful that the VAMC where I am treated does not discriminate against veterans for any reason. I hope that the rest of the VA catches up to this standard.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL - I too look forward to justice and equality for all my friend. I know that in the presence of our Lord and Savior there will justice and equality for all in eternity. I hope that the VA will begin to embrace that concept very soon
