I began my study of the American Civil War by reading an eleven volume history of the naval engagements of that time. It was surprisingly rich with events often overlooked in popular histories that focus on the clashes of the armies. It's good that someone has reduced it to a popular history. (Sorry, I can't remember the title of that set and no longer have access to the library where I found it)

Thanks for the post!

Have enjoyed reading about the history (and perspectives) of both sides.

When in NOLA have visited the WWII Museum and the nearby Memorial Hall.
