I hope he's successful. We have warfighting data formats for tactical data links (MIL-STD 6016 and the J-series), VMF (K-series), US Message Text Format (USMTF), GCCS-J format, etc, etc, that don't always interoperate because acquisition contracts never incentivize interoperability with existing systems and data formats/message standards of record.

We need interoperability but it comes at the risk of hacking into one gives access to others.

Great read Col Joseph Lenertz I think we as a military struggle with many different things including a standardized message format across the services. I would love to see this become a reality!
