A colleague of mine during my deployment to Camp Victory once told me that the Nation wasn't prepared to deal with the veterans of these wars. "Good Soldiers" he said, "were supposed to go forward and die for their country, not come back shot up and sick." The longer these issues linger, the more I realize that 1. He was quite right, and 2. This really isn't any different than what my father and grandfather faced in their wars, and quite frankly, it is sickening.

That is certainly one way, but how do we the people enact such a feat? It is easy to propose, and not as easy to produce. There are 435 representatives, 100 senators, and the president that control the legislation that would make that happen.

Why do you say "government and VA". They are one and the same. Now you may have local and regional VA administrators, but they are all "the government" and ultimately report to the top of the food chain.
