The Pentagon deliberately misled Congress on sex assault cases. Do lawmakers care?

Yes lawmakers care. The reason there is such a problem with sexual assaults in the Military is Commanders are involved in the process and if they act in ways that allow the perpetrator to act with impunity, the target of the crimes cannot sue the Commander due to the Ferris Doctrine. So Commanders can do anything they want and the Target has no recourse. If this happened to a Civilian in a corporate environment, the Target could sue for damages. Neither the Commander nor the Organization ever has to pay any damages, therefore anything goes and the Target is the one that loses everything.

Sgt Joe LaBranche its a problem and now its becoming evident DOD wide IMO.
