interesting take on it. I wonder if they have more or less gun violence then somewhere like America. If everyone has a gun you would have to imagine a bar fight could easily turn into a gun fight but on the flip side maybe a bar fight never starts out of fear of a gun fight.

PO2 Jeffus -- Take a step back and look at the culture of Israel and the middle east as a whole. While there are night clubs and a few bars, for the most part life in Israel revolves around work, family, and education. Even in the bars and night clubs there are rules of behavior that as society they seem to be following very closely....ie. never drink to excess or intemperance, and show manners. Also keep in mind that Israeli citizens are more diverse than you think. Using 2002 IDF statistics Jews make up 75% of the force and population, next comes Christians (all sects and denominations) at about 20% and then Muslims at about 4%. Yes, there are Muslim Israelis!!! You are more likely to get in a fight with another drunk tourist because culturally alcohol is not focus in Israeli life.

LTC Thomas Tennant - I just used bar fight as an example of random violence. I'm wondering if there is less more or the same random violence (not terrorism or war related) involving guns in a country where there are no gun laws then there are in a country like America.
