The Problem with a ‘Woke’ Military | National Review

Sad to say, there are a lot of hurt "feelings" on the battlefield. We need to "wake up" and "woke down."

DEI officers in the military remind me of the political officers in the old Soviet army, where their job was to ensure political conformity of the officer corps.

They worked outside the chain of command and, realistically, commanded the units to which they were assigned. A Soviet general could be relieved by a Lieutenant political officer if the political officer felt the general wasn't conforming to the "correct" political goals.

That's where we're heading in our military today. I guarantee commanders are having to cowtow to DEI officers at risk of being relieved of command.
