The Palestinians have been offered generous peace deals by liberal Israeli leaders and the Palestinians have always snubbed the offers. What has been tried before now obviously hasn't worked, so what's the harm in trying it this way? If the possibility of people dying wasn't a sufficient reason for not trying things the way they were tried before, it's not a sufficient reason for not trying something new now.

The palutinians send rockets the Isrealis send aircraft Bombs and heavy artillery I do not see how the rockets are worse. The harm in trying it this way is that we have stopped even pretending to be a honest broker and now do wxaclybwhatbwe are told to do by the Isrealis. That means nobody takes our attempts at pretending to be a fair arbiter have become sick jokes.
Not to mention that international law since the end of WWII taking and keeping land taken by force has been against international law and US policy..
