Come on Sir, in the late 80's most of the logistical tail was shifted to the NG and reserves. Suppose to save money- only called when needed up in small packets Each corps only had 1 water company, 3 trans units and just enough POL folks to run 1 FARP. so away went truck/transportation Companies, water purification units, POL service Companies, etc., etc. During DS1- Each Corps actually needed 3 water companies with a reserve, 9 trans units we went to jump off line , and XVIII Was running 3 FARPS at once.

MAJ Ken Landgren - No problem Sir- thanks to all that, now damn few units larger than BDE can deploy for any medium/long time w/o calling NG or USAR. In fact I believe there is only 1 CA active unit- our CA USAR are constantly being called up in detachment size groups.
