I highly recommend adding Poland to your bucket list of places to visit. Warsaw was great, the Poles are terrific people, by far the most friendly and pro-American nation in Europe. I got to spend a few months in Poland and loved every minute of it. Warsaw has plenty of rich history and a lot to tell. If you get the chance Gdansk, Torun, and Krakow are on the top of the list.

MAJ (Join to see) thanks for the feedback from someone with actual first-hand experience.

I think the Warsaw Ghetto (1943 uprising) and Auschwitz would be my first priorities. But that just me...

There is an entire Ghetto museum, and an even more historic Warsaw uprising museum both are a must if you are in Warsaw, my personal favorite was the 1930's Jewish Cemetery. Thousands of headstone overgrown with trees of an entire community that just vanished in a month. Now there is no one left to maintain their graves which have fallen into decay. It's a profound experience, very different to the Warsaw uprising memorials. Auswitz is near Krakow which sadly I didn't make it there.
