Exactly. Receiving a trophy for losing defeats Resiliency, so being self-aware of failure in a productive for building Resiliency.

You are right on target. While I served on AD and later in the private industry, I found that someone trying to stop an idea was normally short sided and needed a different route for you to succeed. My approach was to apply gentle pressure but never give up. I seldom lost in my endeavors. I seriously doubt there ever was anyone that didn't fail on one or more occasions, yet succeeded in the long run.

A Friend of Failure

Failure is not bad
Because it means you tried-
You did not give up
Or just roll over and die.
And that poor result
Will temper future action
As it streamlines your effort
Into a more effective fraction
Focusing your energy
With laser-like precision
Empowering your mind to make
Each split-second decision.
So if not for that first,
Necessary and precious failure,
You would have lacked the knowledge
And had not a single prayer
To adapt and overcome
In your determined march to victory.
So never frown on failure,
Because you need it to keep on winning.
