LTC David Brown - Hmmm very responsible for the police to pull back from policing a community whos taxes pays there salaries and whom they sworn to protect. And the media doesnt report on the numerous programs the community has put in place to curb the violence. Also lets not pretend the police doesnt have a history of brutalizing the black community, remember the civil rights era where the police sicced dogs and used high powered hoses on peaceful protestors fighting for simple rights.

They didn't stop policing, the police quite using a style of policing called " community policing" involving more contact with individuals where they police. But that system requires more interaction exposing officers to more ambushes and more POSSIBLE interactions such as occured in Ferguson . Stoping this type of policing has lead to an increase in the murder rate. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community_policing
Community policing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Not second guess every move. http://www.wsj.com/articles/the-black-body-count-rises-as-chicago-police-step-back [login to see]
