The World Is Becoming More Like Israel | National Review

If I may sum the article up a bit here followed by an observation... The article points out that the world, like Israel has hostiles all around. The nations of the world are not able, or more to the point for nations like the United States simply do not have the willpower, to defeat their enemies. As such each nation is simply trying to get one or two steps ahead of their adversaries. This, I believe is an accurate assessment of the world today. So, what does this mean?

For those who have just a shred of historical interest they will know that the world has not seen a major global war since WW2. To me, the times we live in right now are a bit of a blend between the times of pre WW1 when nations were forming alliances against other nations, WW2 when nations were in denial that war was coming yet there were some nations preparing for war, and the Cold War where major players were developing new weapons and finding minor players where they could test out the new weapons and tactics. Add to this COVID, which some people think is biological warfare anyway and the economic crisis that is far worse than the COVID Flu itself and we are sitting on one major powder keg just waiting to blow up into international war.

So the author seeks to compare Trump's border wall idea with Israel's walls. Our border is a little bigger.
