I did not know any of this. When I was in the service Female Marines were very far and few in between. It wasn't until the end of my second enlistment, that our Barracks was made Co-ed. I was the Police Sgt. For Barracks 202 at Cherry Point N.C. it has since been torn down to make way for those Hotel type Barracks.
Let me tell you, it was an eye opener. I had to do a very delicate balancing act . But I never or allowed another Male Marine to harassed or assult any female Marine, in my Barracks. Now it seems like it's a free for all on our nation's sister's in Uniform, so sad.
