Of course there is "old age" for those of us lucky enough to survive long enough. Length of life however is second to quality of life which is what this article is really about. We have little choice in our length of life. I've lost most of my friends to chance and the clock that exists in all of us, it's time set by genetics. Quality of life can be guided by the choices we make.

Thus I plan to continue to compete in ultra cycling as long as I can. I may not hit 200+ miles in 12 hours, but i will take what I can achieve.

Perhaps, but they do become fewer and fewer as I age.
