The only way to be secure is to run your own email server using SSL and change your certificates regularly but in reality, what do I send/receive that needs to be secured?

While we're on the privacy kick, you know your DNS lookups are on sale to the highest bidder along with the tracking cookies. Its all designed to deliver content that you are predicted to be interested in. The next step is identity marketing that not only has a cookie in your browser, but in your mobile devices as well. You will have billboards and sales signs that will show content customized for you.

If someone really wants to see my job search emails, ill be more than happy to provide them. I cant really say I use email for anything of any importance other than job apps, silly subscription updates from hulu, vudu, netflix, and the like...but I can see the importance of certain individuals needing secured emails...but when anything enters a network, nothing is ever truly secure

Thanks for this. I'll have to keep ProtonMail in mind should I ever need secure email in a private environment (I already have secure work email).
