No wonder parents are leaving the public school system in droves assisted by the pandemic.

Lt Col Charlie Brown I can only speak for my school district on this topic of education. We are one of the top districts in the area and we struggle with all the unfunded mandates from the Federal and state governments that add little or no value to students. We are still require to use the state test next month to gauge student learning. We will have to shut down the school for three days for testing. We need a plan from the powers to be to recover the education lost during these times.

Our system in Fairfax is one of the best in the nation and we are failing right now. ESOL and minority students as well as special needs simply can't cope with remote learning on top of the usual craziness...
