The Medal of Honor (and all other awards for valor for that matter) recognize an act, not the actor. When you salute someone wearing an MoH, you are saluting the act, not the actor. Thus, for me, an MoH presented to a humble man (as many of them are) has more meaning. It helps remind us to keep our eye on the true merit and not be distracted by external factors.
