There are to many good Soldiers, that have injuries, to not have alternate events.

Wounded men either from training or combat are not disposable, it’s beyond shitty and it’s bad for morale. We need to give them every opportunity, even if it means an mos change.

not dissing on the alternate events but this seems odd:
The new test standards for permanent profiles won't be finalized until October 2019, the Army said on Monday, but tests selected to be tested further include a 15,000 meter stationary bike ride, a 5,000 meter row, and a 1,2000 meter swim. Each event would be finished "in a set time, targeted at 25 minutes or less." based on a similar article:

that would mean 22.36 mph for the soldier . the avg racing bike rider does 25mph lol ( Male btw_
Don't they mean the 6.2 mile bike ride under 25 minutes?
Also the current swim test calls for 800 yards for the alternate event, 1200 meter swim under 25 minutes seems like a competitive speed.

The Army is developing an alternate combat fitness test for soldiers with permanent injuries
Injured soldiers could be rowing instead of running.
