I just hope the non-Coasties that read this story realize what happened. She was the sole public affairs rep for a three month deployment - a job that would have been given to at LEAST an E-6 in another branch (if not a Commissioned Officer) - and she is an UNTRAINED E-3. For her performance, she got an Achievement Medal, where Army/Navy/Marines would have given a Commendation Medal - and the Air Force an MSM.
