Should have hired a lawyer to file a civil/libel suit against the command for proving a hostile work environment.

Sir, there is a chain of command that the individual must follow within their branch of the armed forces and all of them are different. If only more MST survivors could file civil suits might things change.

Story doesn't wash. Officers aren't just separated. There's a whole bunch of procedural bureaucracy built in that would make it very difficult. There has to be more to this story, and the Army can't tell its side because it's all privacy act protected information.

The link gives a small window into what happened -- it sounds like she lied on something, which got an investigation started. Again, hard to know the details as they haven't been (and won't be, unless she does it) released.

I have heard and experienced this with some of my patients, it does happen, yes there is more to the story and not one single individual up the chain of command assisted, but habored.

Kim Bolen RN CCM ACM You have no idea what happened. There are always three sides to any story like this -- the one telling you the story, the story you can't hear because it's illegal for the military to release it, and the truth, which may be somewhere between the other two stories.

To anyone in the military it's clear that the article posted is hogwash, as people (officers especially), are not simply discharged for no reason. There's a fairly complex process with a lot of moving parts and reviews at multiple levels to make that happen, it's extremely unlikely that in 2009 she was simply discharged because someone didn't like her. I'm not certain about the Army, but in the Navy an officer who is separated involuntarily has that specifically approved by the Secretary of the Navy -- I suspect the Army has a similar regulation.
