Sometimes it feels like you can mitigate or shut down that mental pain. There is nothing but the overwhelming pain.

Over the years I have known many who ended their lives by suicide SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. Clinical depression does not typically respond to reason. In the depths of depression we tend to be self-focused and willing to do anything to stop the mental pain. In those dark moments suicide seems like a reasonable escape with little thought to how it will impact those left behind.
There but for the grace of God go I.

A very sad and tragic story. Cannot imagine at any level going through that.
