To draw more soldiers, the Army wants more recruiters, bigger budgets and a better slogan

Slogans aren't going to help. Stress the pride of belonging to a team that conquers the most difficult tasks in the most difficult places. The Meuse-Argonne, Bastogne, Liberation of the Philippines, Liberation of South Korea, Liberation of Kuwait to name a few. Show how the locals feel when the US Army comes in to push the bad guys out. It shouldn't be about self-centered reasons. It should be about honorable service: Heroes proved in liberating strife.

The ‘Draft’ s/b re-instated. 1 year for the Nation, one and all! Military, VA hospitals, National Parks & Forests, ect.

Or for any national function that could benefit from inexpensive labor to perform relatively menial work, depending on one’s ability, for the better good of America.

Unfortunately the economy is working against us. Also, the general public doesn’t know much about us. Most civilians I talk to think every job in the military involves combat.

How do we bridge the gap with the general public? I’m not sure, but I try to answer all Army questions I get openly and honestly
