From among those listed in the article I would take the end of the USSR including the Berlin Wall as the most significant event in recent years which probably has or will affect everyone in some way or another in the big picture long term of things.

Thanks for sharing Maj Marty Hogan significant events that happened on November 9. None of those events really impacted me. I am still recovering from serving as Republican precinct captain all day yesterday [0700 - 1930] and then going to a small victory party at a local elected official's home with some friend from the political trenches {i have worked the polls since 1996 at least]
