Lots of lost treasure. Not only SEALs but Navy EOD and Army troops as well. They never get remembered though. RIP Gents.

You are so right, Dave. Articles will say 31 killed, mention the SEALs, and that's it. Others died too in that Chinook crash. It was a horrible loss of great talent and patriotism!!! My heart ached when I first read the story on Stars and Stripes. I was in real mourning mode for days. It still stings just to post this discussion.

SCPO (Join to see) - The whole thing sucked. Not having CAS (AH-64s) and a few other SNAFUs all contributed. Who knows what might have been if any of those issues had been different. It is sad and always will be. Thanks for posting about them.

It’s still as painful today as it was 8 years ago. Everyone talks about the SEALs that died, but there were members of the Army Reserve and National Guard on board also.

So true, remember the Five NSW/NECC support troops also, all EXW Warfare. I saw a meme that had 22 Navy Seals died that day, but even that is wrong 22 NSW personnel, but 17 SO's and rest were support.
