These are great videos you've been posting. They remind me of MOUT training years ago. MOUT was always interesting.

Just to provide conversation on this, couple of questions: In light residential and commercial construction, is there much advantage from using an interior wall for cover? (esp. against 5.56mm or 7.62mm ?) Secondly, should number 1 man have kept moving forward and not stopped while engaging? That would have allowed number 2 man into the hallway as well.

Aren't studs usually at or near the corner? Would that stop, deflect, or significantly slow a 5.56 if not a 7.62?
They definitely could have done a 2 man clear. Presumably they felt that the likelihood of contact around that corner was low, and that 1 man could handle it. Given that, he should have still been more cautious.

I think the #1 mistake in CQB is thinking that there is only one way to conduct CQB. Training everyone to be flexable is key, but be fluid and on the same page before entering.
