I had a hard time trying to keep up with the height/weight standards. I worked out, dieted and still I was always 22-23%. When I transfer to my last duty station I was probably the smallest I had been since I went to boot camp 18 years earlier and I was still at 23%. It really felt like a losing battle.

On deployment I got down to the smallest size I've ever been in my entire life. I have always been a big girl but I got to a size 10 and I didn't realize how small I was until I looked at an old picture of myself. I passed the weight/height requirement once in my career, other than that I have always been checked for BF%

I am the first to admit that I am a fatbody. But the trend is not necessarily due to laziness and gluttony. Science is starting to learn that other things are in play, like genetics and intestinal flora
