POTUS probably doesn't care. Draining the "swamp" isn't just aimed at the dems, it's aimed at all the pols that have spent a great part of their life in congress, are really good at feigning indignation, and get absolutely nothing done. Term limits.

Obviously he doesn't care about a lot of things, including national security, protecting our democracy, relationships with allies, and, oh yeah, telling the TRUTH. The scary part is that the base is OK with that and the disaster yesterday doesn't change anything in their minds.

The "base" will just dismiss them as disloyal establishment RINO Never Trumpers. Mostly, it is the same old Republicans that actually do the criticizing-the ones not running for re-election. Sadly, the "base" will see nothing wrong with the President's actions and behavior in Helsenki yesterday, Just more "fake news" false narratives being spun by the mainstream media.
