Before you mentioned it I had never heard of Tops in Blue which was a six-decade-old touring performance ensemble made up of amateur airmen SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.
I expect the airmen were professional airmen but and amateur performers :-)
I am always leery when I read statements like "Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James first launched a survey to find out how airmen really felt about it and then suspended the 2016 tour.
I would not be surprised to learn that the survey was biased in design and had a significant margin of error associated with it.

Finally! It had its Era but today was not it. Campy mandatory fun delivered by lackluster performers who seemed to have lost their drive is how I felt seeing them years ago. Just sad it took this long to pull the plug. If it rises again, I hope it is organic from the ranks who have passion for the material and the purpose.
