This brings up an interesting point. According to the article, the representatives of Islam argue that this is a fundamental piece of their religion. My question is this, if portions of a religion go against the fundamental culture of a nation, should that religion be banned or should the nation adjust it's moral or cultural standards to permit the religion?

The instant divorce is relatively minor, let's consider the honor killing, female circumcision and some other "religious institutions" that are objectionable in most civilized countries.

Women are property in islam, they have no rights. The question here is will the Court in India side with the gov or let the religion govern divorce. I sure hope that India gives those women some rights.
On a side note, where are the American women's rights activists on this one. Why aren't they wearing vaginas on their heads and marching around the Indian embassy?
