This changed right before I got to my duty station, from 18 to 21. Pissed me off @ 18.

The article isn't entirely accurate, but I believe that service members should be allowed to drink on the installation or be allowed to drink off post/base depending on local law. Last time I was at Fort Bliss, you could still drink on post at age 18 due to the proximity of Juarez, but don't know if that has since changed. It is my understanding that most Major Commands allow drinking in countries with a lower drinking age, so I'm not sure where that part of the article came from.
