Perhaps some of his supporters have bought into the Internet fame of if the recount isn't completed before some arbitrary Internet impose date President Obama retains control and a new election is held yes I've seen that on the Internet therefore it must be true

You're dead on about the net. I leave it to Constitutional experts for details but don't believe any scenario - other than something we've never seen before - allows Pres. O to stay in office. There is a 35 day after election deadline of 12/13 for all counts to be completed and think the electors vote 12/19. Processes for ties or neither candidate getting a majority are covered under 12th Amendment. In that event the House votes as they did in 1824.
