It was based upon an extended story on Fox News. I saw the same story and was taken aback by it and what is going on in Sweden. If you watched something other than the MSM you might actually hear about these things. There is a lot going on in Sweden and while it is obvious to some, others still bury their head in the sand and act like it isn't happening. The number of refugees they have taken in from Syria (and other places) relative to their population and their ability to assimilate is creating real issues for them.

SSG Michael Hartsfield - Yes, I was taught to do things. "Do" is half of "done". I take action and will go get information for myself, I don't need to be spoon fed. In this day, the age of the internet, the information at your fingertips is almost limitless. You have access to newspapers, news outlets all of the major wires, tons and tons of information.
I am action oriented. If you say something I doubt, I will go out and research the topic, look at a few sources etc. Sometimes I know the material and know right where to go.
I will not call you weird but I do think it is an issue of generation. I don't need anyone to spoon feed me. I grew up when you had to go to a library or to the newsstand to get information. You had to look hard, there was no search engine or google etc. It is just to easy these days to get information these days. People are without excuse for not knowing or being able to educate themselves on a given topic.

Cpl Jeff N. - Part of the problem IS his chunky 3rd grade level speeches.
He mentioned Sweden then mentioned 3 other European cities that were the victims of terrorist attacks.
""We've got to keep our country safe," he said. "You look at what's happening in Germany. You look at what's happening last night in Sweden. Sweden, who would believe this? Sweden. They took in large numbers. They're having problems like they never thought possible. You look at what's happening in Brussels. You look at what's happening all over the world. Take a look at Nice. Take a look at Paris."
Apparently a LOT of people, including the Swedish Embassy and former Prime Minister of Sweden, believed that The Don was referring to an attack since he also mentioned 3 other cities that had been attacked in his usual run-on sentence style.
i concede I was wrong.

PO1 Rodney Bracey - That is what can happen when you speak extemporaneously. Staying on the teleprompters and being robotic is easier to do but has less realism and doesn't come across as genuine. We saw 8 years of non stop teleprompter. It is easy to do.
They Swedish PM and others believed he was referring to an attack because that is what most of the US press said he said. After looking at it though even you admit he didn't say what he was accused of saying. Sweden is a train wreck as is Belgium, France, Germany and even England. They are powder kegs and they have already had a couple of explosions. Unfortunately I think they are in store for much, much worse.

Did you watch the same press conference last week that I did? Perhaps he does need to stay on the teleprompter. I want a leader that speaks clearly and concisely. Not someone shooting from the hip then deflects when he's proven wrong.

The problem is not the existence or non-existence of increased problems in Sweden. The fact is, there are increased problems as a result of the number of imigrants that have entered that country. The problem is the lack of discernment the President showed in what he said and how he said it, what he counted as a credible source for HIS information, how much he DIDN'T investigate further, and the message all of that sends to the American people and the people of the world.
If President Trump had mentioned the perceived threat to "Sweedishness" as a cautionary tale for the US, he would have had a point. If he had pointed to the growing opposition in their country to immigrants or the recent policy shifts toward increased vetting and higher scrutiny, he would have a valid argument. However, to (accidentally or on purpose) allude to some mystery event that didn't happen based on what he heard on Fox News...that's just not responsible.
