Perhaps a shot across the bow to China for their shenanigans in the south china sea building islands and creating problems. Don't forget we arm the Taiwanese government and have for decades. Perhaps this is China being poked to make them uncomfortable.

When RP started turning into Facebook with all kinds of people with TDS mouthing off, I have to admit, I was a bit put off and backed off on the amount of time I participate in discussions on RP.
If I want to read stupid idiot comments I can always get that on Facebook, and I can say what I think on Facebook without having to worry about being accused of being unprofessional by the PC police.
I have come to realize that those with TDS are generally so far gone that no amount of convincing is going to be enough to convince them to change their minds. It's really pointless to waste time talking to them. It's time wasted that you can never get back. They want you to argue with them, so they can drag you down to their low level -- where they are most comfortable and experienced at mudslinging. Life's too short to waste it arguing with people whose minds are closed books.

I haven't been completely gone though... I just quit posting as much and was lurking a bit. When a point is eloquently made by someone else, I feel no need to try to add more of the same to the conversation. So instead of filling cyberspace with more commentary to wade through, I just upvote their comments and move on.
