Trump dismisses Carter's attacks on his legitimacy

I remember Carter freezing military pay at the same time as the oil embargo caused gas prices to skyrocket and interest rates skyrocketed. My father was in the Air Force at the time and we were hurting for cash in our house. Carter was a miserable failure as a president.

Trump should laugh at this and Carter should shut up

I find it kind of ironic for Carter to attack Trump's presidency, considering his own record as President. He got fewer electoral votes in 1976 then Trump did in 2016, and he lost in a landslide against Regan in 1980.
