Sounds like the guy who started a fire, then went in and put it out. Big hero. Not. It never had to happen. What we have is a broken system since back before Reagan, and we've had our finger in the dike. He didn't break it, and every POTUS has recommended a fix (BO, GB, BC (bandaid)). Congress worked for weeks on a bipartisan bill and he said he wouldn't sign it. Now he says he never told Congress to vote for Goodlatte II but he did (I saved the tweet). All finger pointing aside: We are where we are. What now? Will he make it a priority with Congress now? Will they develop some backbone and do something meaningful to put a new system in place (not just legislation to keep our finger in the dike)? Or will they punt until after mid-terms? I am not encouraged.
